Description:

JOB SUMMARY:

The R&D Application Technician will provide technical support to Operations teams to support both individual users and overall business needs for production. This includes primary technical support and guidance for primary and specialized third-party applications to ensure operating efficacy by monitoring and testing system performance.

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES:

  • Must be able to read and follow written work instructions
  • Strong communication skills and able to work in a team environment
  • A team player with the proven ability to productively work in partnership with cross functional project teams
  • Creative, out of the box, problem solving
  • Familiarity with JAVA, C++, or Visual Basic
  • Parametric Design Software experience, e.g. Solidworks, Fusion, etc.
  • High Electrical and mechanical aptitude
  • Experience with PLC programming

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Associate degree in Computer Sciences, Management Information Systems or a related field and 0-2 years’ related business experience (or other combination of equal work and education background).

PREFERRED SKILLS:

  • 4-year computer science or MIS degree
  • Strong technical aptitude

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
    1st shift:
    Monday - Friday: 6 am to 2:30 pm OR 7 am to 3:30 p

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering with others to troubleshoot daily issues and identify long-term solutions to recurring issues/needs
  • Evaluating/Testing current and emerging applications to recommend solutions
  • Determining best possible approach, design, testing and implementation on software and hardware upgrades in cooperation with business and IT partners
  • Providing off-hours support as scheduled &/or needed for problem resolution, upgrades, business needs, etc.
  • Effectively communicating any changes and building productive relationships across the business
