• Leading the R&D Organization in Germany - in close collaboration with the R&D Director Finland: o Responsible for all German R&D teams in BioIT, Molecular Biology, Microbial Technology, and Enzyme Technology currently in total 35 R&D (technicians and scientists) o Building and further developing the German R&D organization to support ABE’s growth strategy: People management, Talent management, Team development, Hiring.
• Represent the R&D organization internally and externally

• Contributing to shaping the Technology- and Product-Development strategy of the company:

  o Responsible for translating the Product portfolio needs of the different businesses into the technological capabilities required to develop these future product portfolios

• Implementing Technology- and Product-development strategies in the German R&D organization:

  o Ensuring that R&D remains ‘fit for purpose’; securing the required experience and capabilities in the R&D organization: developing and scouting new breakthrough technologies needed to drive innovation and to develop the next generation of product portfolios

  o Drive and lead further globalization, external focus & cultural change; helping the R&D organization in the transition towards a truly global, externally focussed and business driven Technology- and Product-development organization

• Reporting to the Global Director Portfolio Management and R&D

• Member of the Strategic Development Leadership Team (together with heads of R&D Germany, Portfolio Managementand IP management)
