WAGO is represented in Singapore with a fully owned subsidiary for more than 25 years and has a well-established infrastructure locally.
WAGO is currently in the process of setting up an R&D Competence Center in Singapore to better cope with the rising global market demand. The new R&D Competence Center will start its operations in the already existing infrastructure in Singapore.
The focus of the new R&D Competence Center in Singapore will lay on the business areas of sensor technology and power electronics for serving the energy, building, and EV sectors.
We are looking for someone who enjoys and has experience in Power Electronics.
QUALIFICATIONS & COMPETENCES
- Minimum of 3 years’ experience in power electronics and PCB design.
- Strong expertise in power electronic converter topologies, modulation, control, and algorithm development, ideally in EV charging or similar applications.
- Solid theoretical understanding of basic power electronic converter principles, multi-level converters, magnetic component designs, and wide bandgap power semiconductor devices.
- Demonstrated experience in new technology development and innovation, along with publication in reputable journals.
- An innovative spirit and enthusiasm for energy-based topics, technologies, and trends.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team, with excellent communication skills.
- Self-motivated and proactive work attitude.
- University degree in electronic engineering, sensor technologies, power electronics, or a related field.
- Fluent in English, with German language skills as an advantage.
Responsibilities:
- Develop hardware for power electronic products in e-mobility and DC microgrids.
- Design converters and electronic components based on customer requirements and industry standards.
- Perform circuit design and simulations, encompassing power trains, control loops, and interface circuits using both analog and digital components.
- Create schematics and PCB designs for power electronics, coupled with mechanical design.
- Construct prototypes of switch-mode power supplies and controllers, while assisting in building test rigs and system racks.
- Collaborate with external R&D institutes and universities to develop innovative converter and control algorithms.
- Conduct prototype testing, troubleshooting, and support in product testing and qualification, including EMC/RFI and UL certifications.
- Document Bill of Materials (BOM), test procedures, and work instructions.
- Stay up-to-date with advancements in power electronics, PCB design techniques, and industry trends.
