BIT-TS is a pioneer in the field of generating synthetic data. The company offers synthetic training and validation data for camera, radar and lidar sensors of autonomous road users (cars, trains, drones). An important building block is the automated synthesis of 3D scenarios into sensor or ground truth data (rendering based on path tracing). To expand our team in Munich or Dresden, we are looking for an R&D Engineer in the field of rendering (camera, LIDAR, radar). Working remote is also possible.
Tasks

What can you expect?

  • Development of physically based sensor simulation algorithms based on bidirectional path tracing
  • Implementation of importance sampling strategies
  • Collaboration with a young, international team of physicists, artists and experts in the field of generative AI
  • Exciting projects with customers from the automotive, rail and aviation sectors

Requirements

Education/Certification Requirements and Experience

  • Ability to work independently and in an agile team
  • Advanced programming skills C++ and Python
  • Knowledge in the field of linear algebra (vectors, matrices, quaternions)
  • Hands-on Experience in pathtracing and Monte Carlo sampling methods
  • Understanding of software development principles, including software design and testing
  • Experience with material models (BRDF, OpenMaterial) is a plus
  • Knowledge of radar/lidar sensor technology/simulation is desirable
