Description:
Optotune is a strongly growing and internationally active optics company based in Dietikon, Switzerland. We develop, manufacture and market the latest generation of adaptive optical elements for industrial and consumer market.
We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic intern to join our research and development team working on liquid lenses. The R&D intern will work under the guidance of senior engineers to assist with ongoing research, development, and testing of new liquid lens products. This is a full-time internship position for a duration of a minimum 6 months, starting in Jun/July.
Tasks
- Assist with designing and executing experiments to test liquid lens prototypes
- Analyze experimental data using appropriate statistical methods and tools
- Collaborate with team members on the design and assembly of liquid lens prototypes
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to team discussions and problem-solving
- Maintain accurate and organized records of experimental data and results
Requirements
- Finished or currently enrolled in an MSc degree in physics, mechanical, electrical, or optical engineering or a related field
- Previous experience with data analysis and statistical tools
- Understanding of basic optics and physics principles and laboratory techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
- Experience in programming (e.g., with Python) is a plus
