To support the R&D Department Syngas Applications we are offering a position as R&D Scientist (m/f/d) at our Business Unit Catalysts in Heufeld (Germany). Focus will be on sustainable catalytic solutions for water gas shift applications, facilitating the reduction of carbon emissions in chemical industry and supporting key chemical processes for hydrogen economy and energy transition.

REQUIREMENTS

• PhD in Technical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or equivalent.
• Profound knowledge in preparation and testing of heterogeneous catalysts.
• Knowledge in evaluation of performance data gained in different test reactors.
• Experience with characterization of solid catalysts by various methods.
• Structured approach and strong organizational skills.
• Creativity, team spirit, and flexibility.
• High engagement, decisiveness, and trustworthiness.
• English and German fluent.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Lead R&D projects for development of new and innovative catalysts.
• Prepare and test respective catalysts in different scales - from lab to pilot.
• Lead a team of laboratory assistants and technicians - definition of operational tasks and setting priorities.
• Set-up testing procedures test and evaluate test data.
• Support recipe scale-up and product transfer from R&D to production.
• Initiation and assessment of patent and literature searches.
• Technical support to our production and sales teams.
• Ensure documentation of results and communication to relevant stakeholders.
• Cooperate with diversified, interdisciplinary, global teams.
