Job Purpose and Impact
This position is part of Cargill Food Solutions Research and Development Technical Customer Solutions Food and Beverage Europe. The R&D Senior Application Specialist Beverages will focus on beverage driven innovation to help move ingredients from concept to commercialization and thus creating value for Cargill and its customers. You will support new product development initiatives through innovative product and concept development and applied structure/function research of ingredients and functional systems in the beverage subcategories. You will collaborate with other technical and business teams, and you will work on research efforts which involve multifunctional interaction with core R&D, commercial and technical service teams and customers which will require flexibility to assist with other short/mid/long-term application team projects including the use of other ingredients. Key Accountabilities
Work with key customers and business partners to identify and deliver on dedicated project opportunities to agreed timelines. Partner with customer facing teams (marketing, sales, and technical service) to identify and meet customer needs and provide technical presentations to customers. Develop concepts and run product demonstrations, serve as the technical expert. Prepare prototypes for application studies and customer evaluation. Lead product application related development, report data and monitor scientific reports and datasheets detailing the organization’s products and their applications. Scouting and evaluation of potential ingredients and technologies. Independently handle complex issues with minimal supervision, while escalating only most complex issues to appropriate staff. Other duties as assigned. Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent experience Comprehensive knowledge of beverage ingredient functionality and its effects on sensory attributes and overall product acceptability Minimum of four years of related work experience Fluent level of English
Preferred Qualifications Skilled in beverage manufacturing technology and processing and trouble shooting Strong awareness of safety, quality and environment 8 - 10 years of experience in beverage space Comprehensive formulation and process knowledge of liquid and powdered beverages Highly experienced with ingredients like sweeteners, starches and texturizers, oils & fats, and cocoa powders Profound expertise with flavour and sensory Ability to connect dots - from science to market driven solutions (and vice versa) Ability to work in a matrix organization IP savvy Advanced project management skills
