Counting and pouring dangerous drugs into containers 5. Placing dangerous drugs into containers prior to dispensing by a pharmacist 6. Non-sterile drug compounding following the completion of site-specific training 7. Sterile drug compounding following the completion of a site-specific training 8. Stocking automated drug storage systems, floor stock, and crash carts Essential Duties & Functions: · Prepare medication doses prior to a pharmacist’s review & dispensing · Perform non-sterile and sterile medication compounding after required training · Restock medications in automated dispensing cabinets · Delivery of medications to patient care areas · Monitor drug inventory levels to ensure a continuous supply of medications without stockpiling supplies · Troubleshoot problems and/or do minor maintenance on all pharmacy equipment, printers, computers and telecommunication equipment with adequate training in the pharmacy · Must be familiar with pharmacy software · Must use aseptic technique, wear appropriate attire, and follow standards in aseptic compounding · Must maintain clean and safe working environment Other Duties & Functions: · Other duties as assigned Qualification Education Minimum Level of Education Required: High School completion / GED Preferred educational qualifications: Completion of an ASHP/ACPE-accredited technician education and training program Licensure/Certification/Registration Certified Pharmacy Technician through the Pharmacy Technician Certification Board (PTCB) Registration with the State of Ohio Board of Pharmacy as a “Certified Pharmacy Technician” or eligible for registration within 45 days of hire.
