SUMMARY:

The Design Drafter creates designs and blueprints along with a team of other engineers and drafters using software and making modifications as needed to various projects that MPI/CCS may be engaged in.

EDUCATION:

High School Diploma or GED and/or Technical College
Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Drafting, Engineering, or relevant field of study preferred

EXPERIENCE:

0-1 years of experience in drafting, engineering, or relevant field in the construction industry.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

• Computer skills
• Strong working knowledge of CAD or engineering software
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
• Problem solving and organizational skills, including time management, delegation, prioritization, and multitasking
• Work independently with little direction
• Work under pressure and to meet tight deadlines
• Must be able to establish good working relationship with many individuals

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Exposure to characteristic construction site danger if on job site
• Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
• Must be able to lift or move 20 pounds

• Creates and designs blueprints for Ag and light commercial projects and/or
• Ensure building systems are functional, reliable, and safe and identify problems if any
• Participate in site visits
• Consulting with clients on building projects as needed
• Testing and evaluating building systems
• All other duties assigned
