EXECUTIVE SUMMARY:
The Technology Consultant for the Intelligent Devices Business Unit is a key player in our presales efforts, specializing in diverse technologies such as Industrial Control, Sensors, Safety Devices, Motion Control, Autonomous Mobile Robots, Distributed I/O, and small controllers. This role requires a unique blend of technical expertise and commercial acumen to articulate applications, utilize proposal tools effectively, and foster strong relationships. Proficiency in Studio 5000, Integrated Architecture Builder (IAB), PLC programming with Contrologix and Compactlogix, along with familiarity with Virtual Demo tools like OnCourse, is crucial for success.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
- Proven experience in a presales support role, preferably within the Intelligent Devices industry.
- In-depth knowledge of Intelligent Devices technologies, including Studio 5000, IAB, PLC programming with Contrologix and Compactlogix, Industrial Control, Sensors, Safety Devices, Motion Control, AMR, Distributed I/O, and small controllers.
- Familiarity with proposal tools and the Integrated Architecture concept. Strong commercial skills, including the ability to understand customer needs and effectively position Intelligent Devices technologies.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain a network within the company, sub Business Units, and with distributor principals.
- Strategic thinking and leadership skills.

Responsibilities:
Technical Proficiency: In-depth knowledge of Intelligent Devices technologies, including Studio 5000, IAB, PLC programming with Contrologix and Compactlogix, Industrial Control, Sensors, Safety Devices, Motion Control, AMR, Distributed I/O, and small controllers. Commercial Acumen: Leverage technical expertise to position Intelligent Devices effectively, understanding industry applications and articulating value propositions. Proposal Tool Mastery: Utilize tools for compelling and accurate proposals, ensuring alignment with the Integrated Architecture concept. Communication Skills: Excellent communication to convey technical concepts clearly to internal teams and external stakeholders. Networking and Relationship Building: Establish strong relationships within the Business Unit, sub Business Units, and with distributor principals for effective collaboration. Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans within the designated territory to meet sales objectives for each Intelligent Devices Business Unit. Leadership by Influence: Collaborate effectively with specialists in each sub Business Unit to amplify the impact of sales initiatives. Quota Responsibility: Achieve the sales objectives of the Intelligent Devices Business Unit in the designated territory.
