JOB DESCRIPTION:

Job Title: Track Curator / Track Manager
Department: Track and Grounds
Direct Supervisor: CEO
Revision Date: Annually
Position Overview
Manage and maintain the racetrack, training facilities and course grounds to a standard
expected of a premier provincial club. Reports directly to the Chief Executive Officer.

Essential Job Functions

• Prepare, manage and review the daily operations of the Kalgoorlie Boulder Race Club
• Ensure that the racetrack is prepared and ready for conduct of race meetings as required
• plan and manage rail movements during the race season
• plan and manage renovation of the racetrack during the off-season
• ensure maintenance of reticulation system
• plan and manage implementation of fertilizer program
• plan and manage overall maintenance of the racing surface during the race season
• Plan and schedule the maintenance of plant and equipment
• Assist in planning and preparing financial budgets relevant to the track and grounds operations
• supervision of casual staff on race day
• supervision of casual and permanent staff
• effectively communicate with facility users (trainers, riders and strappers)
• Manage contract works (mowing services)

Requirements

• Qualification and experience in Sports Turf Management
• It is essential to the role of Track and Grounds Senior Officer that the person be available on each day that the Club hosts a race meeting or feature event
• Track and Grounds Senior Officer is required to work as part of a team with the Club Manager, Food and Beverage Manager and Sponsorship and Events Officer to assist in the preparation and co-ordination of feature events for the Kalgoorlie Boulder Race Club
• Ensure Occupational Health and Safety Standards are maintained

• Computer skills (email, word document, spreadsheet)
• Horticulture Training
• Operation of pressurized reticulation systems
• Operation of heavy vehicles and plant and equipment
