Description:
Azimuth Corporation is seeking a talented Radar Scientist to join our Springfield, VA office team. The ideal candidate will provide on-site technical support and expertise, exploiting unique phenomenologies and exploring innovative collection and exploitation methods and systems to improve intelligence in denied areas under all-weather, day-night conditions.
Responsibilities for this role include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Provide technical expertise for the research and development of new radar collection and exploitation technologies, methods, and systems.
- Possess a thorough understanding of state-of-the-art research in RF and radar systems, support efforts to significantly improve non-literal radar and RF data processing and exploitation systems.
- Provide expert advice regarding scientific tradecraft and automating radar data exploitation.
- Provide expertise to support development of pilots and technical solutions to significantly improve radar tasking, collection, processing, exploitation, and dissemination.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience: 15+ years with a PhD degree; or 18+ years with a MA/MS degree; or 20+ years with a BA/BS degree and recognition within a discipline related to the position’s work. Types of recognition include Federal, national, or internationally recognized professional organization or academia, and/or relevant publications in reputable medium.
- Degree in Mathematics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering
- Expertise in scientific research and development of Radio Frequency (RF) and Radar technology to include, but not limited to:
- Synthetic Aperature Radar, Non-literal radar and RF data processing and exploitation
- Improvement of scientific tradecraft and systems for automating raw radar data exploitation
- Development of new non-literal radar and RF collection and exploitation methods and systems
- Creation of future radar sensors to improve intelligence in denied areas
- Advancement of state-of-the-art research in RF and radar systems
- Integration of advanced phenomenologies
- National Technical Means and or Commercial RF and radar architecture and technology
- Electromagnetic physics to review/asses mathematical equations
- State-of-the-art and emerging technology for RF receiver systems
- Demonstrated initiative, sound judgment, and ability to work independently and as a team
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, time-management, and organizational skills
- Active TS/SCI Clearance
- CI Polygraph may be required.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS / TRAVEL
- Must be able to work in an office environment at a desk and computer
- May travel ~10% to conferences, program reviews, industry meetings, or other collaborative events. Most or all travel would be CONUS.
- Must be able to work in a lab environment
- Must be able to lift or carry up to 25 pounds
