Job Purpose
Manage As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA), Health Physics, and Radioactive waste management throughout the planning, execution and post close-out phases of radiation safety activities for the Barakah Nuclear Power Plant (BNPP) as per the regulatory requirements, operating policies and principles, nuclear standards for nuclear safety, industrial safety, and environmental protection, to ensure overall business performance objectives are achieved.
Key Activities, Responsibility & Accountability
- Manage the execution of the radiation shield performance test to ensure safe plant operations.
- Manage the preparation for World Association of Nuclear Operators (WANO) peer reviews to ensure industrial best-practices are implemented.
- Ensure plant groups are provided RP technical support to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient plant operations.
- Manage the development and execution of the health physics master plan to ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
- Manage and oversee the implementation of Radio Isotopes (RI) storage program, and the conduct of periodic leak tests for RIs to ensure RIs stay within required bounds.
- Manage the quantity of radiation detection instruments available for use to ensure an adequate supply is available
- Review and validate the long-term As Low As Reasonably Achievable (ALARA) Plan to manage the effectiveness of organization performance improvements.
- Manage and lead ALARA Committee activities to promote long-term objectives of improving plant ALARA standards.
- Manage the allocation technical support resources to support plant operational excellence.

- Manage the implementation of radioactive waste and clearance level waste management process to ensure proper handling and disposal of radioactive waste in compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Manage the operation of the scaling factor program of radioactive waste to evaluate radioactive inventory of waste.
- Manage Solid Radwaste System (SRS) to ensure solidified radioactive waste complies with the disposal criteria.
- Identify the implementation of on-site radioactive waste transport and storage process to achieve the highest level of safety and reliability while ensuring regulatory compliance.
- Manage inventory of radioactive waste treatment equipment and expendables to enable efficient waste management operations.
- Oversee Radioactive Waste Management Committee to enforce waste management program.

Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or related Science
Experience
3 years in two or more organizational areas of Radiological Protection (RP), including ALARA, Bioassay/Whole Body, Decontamination, Dosimetry, Radiochemistry, Radiological Environmental Monitoring,
Program/Radiological Effluent Technical Specifications, RP Instrumentation, RP operations, or Radioactive Waste.
3 years of Nuclear Power Plant experience with 6 months of BNPP site
experience.
- 10 years of relevant experience, out of which:
- 2 years in a Managerial roll.
