Description:
WORKING HOURS: 37.5 WITH A REGULAR MON-FRI PATTERN AND AN EARLY FINISH ON A FRIDAY.
We are currently seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable individual to join our team as a Radio & Media Tutor at HMP Peterborough. In this role, you will be responsible for providing high-quality instruction and support to prisoners of radio and media. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of something greater.
As a Radio & Media Tutor at HMP Peterborough, you will develop and deliver engaging lesson plans that cover various aspects of radio and media production and to teach radio production skills that can be used to apply for jobs and to equip with the skills that will be necessary in many occupations.
You will guide prisoners in developing their skills in areas such as creating magazines, audio editing, scriptwriting, and broadcasting.

Responsibilities:
- Deliver engaging and informative lectures, workshops, and practical sessions on various aspects of radio broadcasting and media production.
- Create and implement curriculum and lesson plans that are aligned with industry standards and address the needs of the students.
- Challenge negative behaviour and increase self-esteem by role modelling
- Teach learners to increase their basic digital skills up to a level where they are confident in using technology that is used in the radio industry and full-time employment.
- Provide individualized support and guidance to students, helping them improve their practical skills and develop their own unique broadcasting styles.
- Offer constructive feedback and evaluation to students to help them identify areas for improvement and growth.
- Ensuring that all learners are provided with an initial assessment and a diagnostic test
- Stay up to date with the latest trends and technologies in radio broadcasting and media production and incorporate these into the teaching materials and curriculum.
- Collaborate with other instructors and staff to ensure a comprehensive and well-rounded education for the students.
- Must have a degree or a level 4 qualification in a relevant subject area.
- Experience of delivering radio production in the classroom or teaching qualification is a must to be considered for this role.
- A good knowledge of digital audio editing software (Adobe Audition).
- You will need to be able to follow rules and procedures that are laid down by the Prison Service and HMP Peterborough
