Description:

An opportunity has arisen within the Quality department for a Radiography Level 3 Quality Technician, reporting to the HEC site Level 3. The purpose of the job is to ensure that the radiographic inspection processes are maintained in compliance with the latest industry and customer specifications while maintain the team skills to achieve consistent inspection standards at a high efficiency.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Good communication and presentation skills required (written, verbal and non-verbal).
  • Ability to communicate with all levels within the organisation.
  • Ability to work with external and internal customers.
  • Computer literate including word-processing, spreadsheets, email, and an appreciation of business systems e.g., MES.
  • Meticulous with good attention to detail.
  • Awareness of Health and Safety.
  • Education and or experience to achieve Level 3 (as defined in BOP 950.004.001 / NAS410 / EN4179 / or equivalent
  • 4 years experience as RT Level 2
  • 2 years experience as RT Level 2 with 2 years of appropriate technical education.
  • 1 years experience as RT Level 2 with a technical degree
  • Must effectively listen, evaluate, in developing a response.

Responsibilities:

  • All responsibilities covered by the RT Level 2 role.
  • Reviewing customer specifications.
  • Creating/modifying work Instructions to meet customer specification.
  • Support and maintain the training program for RT Inspection operators.
  • Audit overcheck program for RT inspections.
  • Supporting all audit preparation (including Nadcap).
  • Hosting audits.
  • Contribute towards continuous improvement within the department.
  • Contribute to the departmental team objectives by accomplishing results as required.
  • Liaise with Howmet Corporate organisation and other Howmet Plants.
  • Maintain job knowledge through training and personal development.
  • Train to become assistant Radiation Protection Supervisor (RPS) to support the site Radiation Protection.
  • Ensure compliance with Health and Safety.
  • Determine radiographic techniques for new parts i.e., 2% sensitivity achieved film density, angle, and number of shots.
  • Support annual eye testing schedule for NDT personnel.
  • Cross train to support other administrative roles within the Quality Department.
  • Such other duties as the management may from time to time reasonably require.
