Description:

This post offers a unique opportunity to play a key role in the radiotherapy private patient service. With strong leadership skills, the post holder will manage the delivery of the private patient service and support the radiotherapy team to provide a high quality service to all patients, carers and referring practitioners accessing radiotherapy private services. This role involves supporting, evaluating and monitoring service provision to provide a quality private patient service which is efficient, meets the key performance indicators and provides high levels of user satisfaction. The post holder will act with autonomy for day-to-day operational provision of a private patient service, and contribute towards senior level projects with the support of the Radiotherapy Lead Team. The post-holder will be expected to form strong working relationships with the Management Team, Clinical Lead(s), therapeutic radiographers, radiotherapy physics, dosimetrist, radiotherapy nurses, brachytherapy, and relevant allied health professionals. They will also liaise closely with patients, carers, external Trusts, insurers, embassies, interpreters, accommodation services, volunteers, and GPs.
Responsible for the day-to-day private service management in line with national and local targets and audit requirements.
Working closely with the Radiotherapy admin and clerical team leads in order to provide a high-quality administration service to all patients accessing the Radiotherapy services, their carer’s and referring practitioners.
Supporting and reporting on the delivery of performance targets including activity, governance and others as applicable.
Managing and developing inpatient and outpatient pathways to ensure continuous improvement.
Supporting in the management of service wide projects and initiatives as agreed with the Radiotherapy Services Manager. The post holder will take the lead on additional specific projects. Particular areas of focus for such projects will include (but not be limited to) Quality, Efficiency & Productivity Programme and service improvements.
Working closely with the Radiotherapy Lead Team and Clinical Lead to provide strategic direction and leadership to ensure private services continue to improve and develop.
