Downer Rail and Transit Systems (RTS) is the leading rail business in Australia. We have a long history of designing and manufacturing rolling stock and we are the largest provider of through-life support asset management services for passenger rolling stock in Australia.
With a team of more than 200 engineers, Downer RTS goes beyond conventional services to offer bespoke engineering consulting and forward-thinking digital transformation solutions. Some of our flagship projects include the manufacturing and maintenance of:
- 65 new six-car trains as part of the Queensland Train Manufacturing Program (QTMP), supporting the 2032 Brisbane Olympic and Paralympic Games.
- 119 Waratah trains in New South Wales – Australia’s largest passenger fleet on Australia’s largest passenger network.
- 70 High-Capacity Metro Trains in Victoria. Additionally, we’re refurbishing 450 of Melbourne’s iconic tram fleet, the largest tram overhaul project in the world.
Responsibilities:
We have opportunities for experienced RAM Engineer’s to join our team. In your role you will perform and support RAM activities across our RTS business, helping to ensure our projects are completed with documented evidence in accordance with the relevant design standards and specifications. The work will include detailed RAM analysis of proposed engineering modifications, overhaul of existing equipment and the introduction of new equipment.
- Degree qualified or equivalent in an Engineering discipline,
- Experience in rolling stock design, build, test and commissioning, and/or maintenance
- Experience in RAM engineering activities and producing /reviewing RAM deliverables (including RBD modelling, reliability analysis & prediction, RAM demonstration, and FMECA)
- Desired is RAM software tool experience (i.e. Reliability Work Bench and Availability Work Bench or similar) to perform RAM analyses and modelling.
- Excellent MS Excel skills
- Good communication skills. able to liaise with system engineers to provide the required RAM activities and deliverables in support of design changes and modifications and improvements.
