Job Description
AECOM is seeking a Rail Construction Director to be based in Fresno or Sacramento, CA.
JOB SUMMARY:
The Rail Construction Director is responsible for identifying, assessing, managing, monitoring and reporting on project risks, risk mitigations, and contingency across the program. Broadly, these include risks associated with or potentially impacting the scope, schedule, or budget of the individual projects within the program as well as the overall quality of the program as delivered. This individual will provide oversight to the project team members who are charged with managing individual risks and associated mitigations.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:
- BA/BS + 10 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a similar relevant discipline
- 15 years of experience in managing the construction of large transportation infrastructure projects in positions of increasing responsibility, including extensive experience in the delivery of design-build projects.
- Proven ability to work with a wide range of disciplines connected with the successful completion of projects.
Responsibilities:
- Provide direction, oversight of design/construction matters, and support coordination with cross-functional units to remove “hurdles” that impact the schedule.
- Provide awareness and guidance in the assessment of technical, management, design, and construction issues.
- Provide proposed responses to help with carrying out action plans for said issues.
- Lead the implementation and provide compliance of consultants and contractors with the client’s policies, procedures, safety, and quality systems.
- Provide oversight and direction to PDS PMs, other staff, and subcontractors.
- Assess and manage risk on behalf of the client.
- Interact with senior government or public officials and/or executive levels clients on program matters often requiring coordination between organizations.
- Provide leadership and direction to the various design and construction teams.
- Assist in communications with federal, state, and local officials and stakeholders on program matters, and the resolution of program issues.
