Description:

Main Purpose
The Rail System Manager will ensure that the Rail Systems (Signalling, Platform Screen Doors, Communication and SCADA) and OCC design will fit with the O&M organisation developped during the tender stage and during the early phase of the design stage.
They will write the technical documentation (for OCC operations, Trains operations, Standart Operating Procedures..) for the O&M phase based on the design stage 3 documentation and later the O&M manuals provided by D&C. They will participate in Test and Commissioning and lead the Trial Operations Test Cases for the previous systems.

Main Responsabilities

  • General

Ø Write operational documentation
Ø Support the asset management and operation activity (asset register, production, life cycle cost, organization,…)
Ø Support the safety processes defined by the O&M HSEQ Director
Ø Support the risk assessment and management
Ø Contribute/lead to the production of the project/management plan (including Operation Plan and O&M Readiness Plan)
Ø Contribute to the configuration management

Ø Participate in the different workshops and develop the evidences (technical notes) with arguments to explain our O&M position

  • Rail Systems

Ø Review and assess the Rail Systems mission profile (mileage per year, power on, running on,…)
Ø Elaborate and share with D&C team the operation and maintenance concept
Ø Review and comment the specification documents produced by Rail Systems Team in accordance to Design Stage as per the PS-10 section 4.8 (functional, degraded modes, reports, interfaces, drawings, ) with focus on operability and maintainability
Ø Define O&M strategy with regards to : Remote Train Driving, Degraded Mode, OCC/BOCC, PSD isolation, Events/Alarms management (classification, criticality,…) , Single point of failure (point machine), Remote reset function, Condition monitoring, system, Obsolescence strategy, HMI ergonomic, IMV Driving mode and supervision,
Ø Confirm and assess that any change will not affect the system performance and the O&M KPI
Ø Contribute assess and de-risk the technical interfaces (RST/Signalling/Communication, Signalling/Com/Station, Sig/Track, OCC/SMF, Airport/Sydney Train)
Ø Review and assess the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) and SHL (System Hazard Log) at Rail System level,
Ø Review and assess the Sub-Systems of the Rail Systems Hazard Identification (SSHI) Sub-System Hazard Analysis (SSHA) Sub-System Failure Mode and Effect Analysis (FMEA)
Ø Review and assess the exported constraints to the operator, the Rail Systems RAM reports, the Rail Systems operation and maintenance concept, the test and commissioning strategy, the Spare part strategy, the Tools strategy, the test and commissioning strategy including First Article Inspection/Factory acceptance Test
Ø Prepare the asset handover strategy
Ø Define and prepare the Warranty obligations
Ø Put together the suite of test cases that O&M will run as part of the Trial Operations to reach performance targets enabling to start passenger service

Ø Run the test cases linked with Rail Systems as part of Testing and Commissionning

  • Stations/OCC/Stabling and Maintenance Facilities

Ø Review and assess the SMF/Station specifications in accordance to Design Stage as per the PS-04 section 4.8 (functional, interfaces) and PS-02 section 2.10
Ø Review and assess the Depot/Station specifications,
Ø Evaluate any gap between the operation and maintenance concept versus the OCC layouts included building (drawings) provided by Industrial Partners,
Ø Review and assess the Stations/depot layouts included buildings (drawings),
Ø Review and assess the Stations/depot workshop equipment implementation,
Ø Contribute and assess the technical interfaces (Rail Systems/Station and Rail Systems/Depot),
Ø Review and assess the exported constraints to the operator,
Ø Review and assess the Stations/Depot RAM reports,

Ø Review and assess the updated Stations/Depot maintenance concept and the life cycle cost with the support of the business analyst.

  • Human Factor

Ø Contribute in the human factor process
Ø Review and assess the human factor issues for the OCC/Stations/Driving Desk
Ø Support some ergonomic studies (OCC Ergonomic studies, RST Emergency Driving Desk,…)
Any other appropriated duties

Work/Job Experience Requirements

  • Minimum 15 years in Railway environment
  • Driverless metro operation position (production and or engineering lead)
  • Has already an experience in OCC operation during operation phase
  • Engineer Master degree or equivalent

Educational Requirements
Diploma / Degree in Engineering or B.Sc./M.Sc. with Physics / Electronics/ Power Supply / Computer Science
English language (Fluent)
