Description:

An excellent opportunity exists for a suitably qualified individual in the role of Ramp & Catering Manager at Adelaide Airport. This is a full-time position that involves the direct oversight of Rex’s team of Aircraft Support Officers and contracted ground handling agent. This role leads and establishes priorities for the team to ensure ground employees meet or exceed Rex’s objectives for safety and compliance, on-time performance, baggage handling, and customer satisfaction. This position reports to the Ramp Operations Manager.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of Ramp and Catering activities in accordance with company policies and procedures
  • Ensure Ramp Standard Operating Procedures and Safety Protocols are adhered to at all times
  • Liaise with airport authorities and external stakeholders (including attending meetings on Rex’s behalf)
  • Maintain close and effective business relationships and liaise with other company departments on operational matters
  • Develop, implement and control effective rosters and monitor daily staff utilization
  • Ensure serviceability and presentation of company equipment and facilities
  • Investigate safety reports and recommend safety measures for preventing further occurrences
  • Assist with mishandled, lost and damaged baggage
  • Ensuring compliance by staff with the company code of conduct and Safety Management System (SMS)
  • Review reports to ascertain data required for planning department operations
  • Ensure high levels of work safety and compliance with Work Health and Safety (WHS) legislation
  • Investigate all service failures including chargeable delays, baggage/freight mishandling
  • Provide support to the Ramp Operations Manager and ADL Airport Manager where required
  • Undertake payroll processing and other administrate functions
  • Demonstrate leadership, decision making and organizational skills
  • Lead, manage and develop team members including coaching, mentoring and performance feedback to achieve high levels of performance and service excellence
  • Other duties as reasonably requested by the National Airports Manager, Ramp Operations Manager and/or ADL Airport Manager
