BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Doctorate degree OR
- Master’s degree and 2 years of experience in similar functions for rare disease portfolios (Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs & Government Relations) in a multinational environment.
- OR
- Bachelor’s degree in health-related area (RN, PharmD, BSc, MD) and 4 years of experience in similar functions for rare disease portfolios (Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs & Government Relations) in a multinational environment OR
- Associate’s degree in health-related area and 8 years of experience in similar functions for rare disease portfolios (Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs & Government Relations) in a multinational environment OR
- High school diploma / GED 10 years of experience in similar functions for rare disease portfolios (Patient Advocacy, Public Affairs & Government Relations) in a multinational environment.
- Proficiency in English, both in written and verbal communication.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience in Patient Advocacy area.
- Strong communication, listening skills and empathy skills required.
- Ability to develop important relationships with key stakeholders.
- Outstanding process and project management skills.
Responsibilities:
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE, BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Proactively engage and partner with Patient Advocacy Groups (PAGs), NGOs and advocacy leaders to understand and respond to rare disease patients’ needs.
- Develop and implement plans to engage patient communities across the country working cross-functionally with other business functions.
- Help build the capabilities of patient advocates to works as advisors of key stakeholders and improve the healthcare system in partnership with third-party authorities.
- Actively supervise changes in legislation and regulation that may impact the Company and provide strategic mentorship to ensure compliance.
- Collaborate with internal leaders to develop and execute advocacy strategies to develop government policies at local and national levels.
- Participate in pharma patient advocacy rare disease committees and interest groups to strengthen the Company’s and RD portfolio presence and opportunities.
- Be knowledgeable of any changes in the patient access environment to proactively identify issues that may impact access and communicate information appropriately to internal teams to address.
- Develop activities with the goal of achieving greater willingness and understanding of rare disease.
