Purolite is seeking a Chemist who will work within the UK RD&E team and contribute to the pipeline of innovative product launches by conducting new product development/innovation based in Purolite’s high-tech synthetic RD&E laboratories. This role typically reports to the project/program leader or more senior technical leader.
Responsibilities:
- Work within the New Product Development/Innovation team – dedicated to growing the product portfolio of novel high-performing bioprocessing resins.
- Work alongside fellow NPD group members, Application, and Process Development teams to develop robust and reproducible processes which can commercialized.
- Perform synthesis, functionalization, and characterization of resins as part of the NPI process, from proof of concept through to optimization and scale-up/process development support.
- Perform optimisation exercises to improve process efficiency and reduce costs for existing processes where required.
- Maintain accurate and detailed records of the research and development conducted, in addition to monthly reporting of updates and concise scientific R&D Report writing.
- Perform literature searches of research papers, patents and publications to keep up to date with latest developments.
- Assist with maintaining the required level of Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) within the laboratory including upkeep of SHE databases (e.g. COSHH, SDS, Risk Assessments) and SHE reporting.
- Work under general supervision on assigned tasks or portions of projects.
