Description:

Overview:
Receive, unload, and process deliveries and account for incoming freight based on invoice and receiving reports. Stage merchandise by department, mark appropriately for placement in facility, and deliver merchandise to appropriate department. Verify and track received inventory and complete inventory reports and logs. Reconcile shipping invoices and receiving reports to ensure count accuracy. Receive, store, ship, and deliver incoming and outgoing department packages and mail. Secure the receiving room and its contents, ensuring safekeeping of packages. Follow all national, state, and local hazardous material shipping guidelines and regulations.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive all incoming deliveries to the resort.
  • Maintain accurate logbooks on all shipping and receiving transactions.
  • Ship all out-going mail and packages.
  • Secure the receiving room and its contents, ensuring safekeeping of same.
  • Direct all deliveries not under jurisdiction of the receiving room to the proper areas.
  • Adhere to policy and package turn-around times.
  • Deliver, sort and pick up mail, if applicable.
  • Each associate is expected to carry out, within their capabilities, all reasonable requests by management.
  • Assist purchaser to utilize existing programs effectively to post invoices, update items and costs and perform daily and period end food and beverage costs.
  • Assist in maintaining an accurate controllable log and beverage perpetuals under the guidance of the Purchaser.
  • Assist to maintain proper par levels for all food, beverage and delegated controllable items through daily inventory logs and pass on to purchaser on timely basis.
  • Check invoice on goods received against shipment to ensure quantity, quality, weights and purchase specifications are as ordered.
  • Enforce first in/first out inventory rotation for all storeroom products.
  • Assist to complete period end inventories according to Food and Beverage and Accounting standard operating procedures.
  • Complete or assign administrative, organization and sanitation tasks daily.
  • Ensures compliance with standard, local provincial and federal operating and regulations.
  • Advises the purchaser on existing and evolving operating issues - items about to expire etc.
  • Maintains receiving and food storage standards.
  • Knows Food Specification changes.
  • Assist in beverage control system, e.g., recording all liquor received in storeroom; issuing and filling requisitions; ordering liquor; and matching orders and invoices against receivables.
  • Maintains par stocks throughout the various departments by daily monitoring of on-hand inventory.
  • To look out for the safety of yourself, co-workers and to follow all Health and Safety requirements in the workplace.
  • All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Hotel shipping/receiving experience – 1 year
  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Food & Beverage inventory storage principles
  • Sound working knowledge of shipping and receiving processes
  • Good health and personal hygiene.
  • Multi-tasking
  • Excellent communication skills – both verbal and written
  • Good organizational and time management skills
  • Minimum lifting 30-40 lbs.
  • Ability to verbally communicate effectively with guests and co-workers.
  • Pushing, pulling, bending, stooping, upward reaching
  • Exposure to extreme temperatures
  • Prolonged periods of standing and/or walking

The schedule for this position requires an open availability and would require the ability to work shift work, late nights, weekends and holidays.
