An excellent opportunity has arisen to work as a Receptionist within the
Resource Centre Outpatients, London Road, Derby, DE1 2QY
You will join our busy front of house team delivering an efficient and effective service.
This post has interesting and varied responsibilities, including typing/word processing, data input and front of house duties.
2 days per week - 9am -5pm
It is essential that you have excellent written and verbal communication and organisational skills, as well as the ability to work in a busy environment and as part of a team.
You must be able to prioritise work and respond to any queries from service users, staff, the general public or other agencies in a professional manner.
You should have demonstrable experience or possess RSA II typewriting or word processing, have a good standard of spelling and grammatical accuracy, with previous experience of using Microsoft Office packages.
You need to be able to demonstrate a clear understanding of confidentiality issues, be well motivated and reliable.

You will be required to be flexible with your approach, as you will be required to provide annual leave cover within the reception team.

Receiving and registering patients.
Booking appointments and arranging transport when required.
Preparation before and clearing away after clinics.
Liaise with Consultant Psychiatrists to ensure clinics are held in line with Consultant’s needs, i.e. annual leave, sickness etc. This will include ensuring administration provision to new clinics and liaising with relevant departments.
Liaise with Maintenance Department, Portering Service and IT reporting any faults.
On behalf of the Service, ensure effective communication with all outside agencies, general public and clients/carers, taking accurate messages or dealing with queries in accordance with Trust Policies and Procedures.
To work flexibly with other admin colleagues to ensure that workload pressures and absences due to annual leave and sickness are dealt with appropriately by using available resources.
Adopt a personalised approach displaying sensitivity and tolerance toward individuals using the Service
Operating a small switchboard, which involves taking and relaying accurate messages and dealing with enquiries, providing information and non-clinical advice to clients/carers/other professionals as appropriate or to convey information to clinical or managerial staff to action.
Undertake general clerical tasks, including photocopying, scanning, filing, processing of incoming and outgoing mail etc.
Any other appropriate duties as may be delegated from time to time by the Senior Receptionist
