Are you an experienced administrative professional who can manage the front desk and serve as the first point of contact for visitors, students and parents at a school?

We are looking for a multitasking, organised and high emotional intelligence Receptionist who can join a school located in Preston and perform various duties such as answering phone calls, directing inquiries, scheduling appointments, maintaining attendance records, and providing general administrative support to the school staff by creating a welcoming and organised environment for everyone.

  • Welcome visitors, provide them with necessary information and direct them to the appropriate person or location.
  • Handle incoming phone calls, provide information, take messages and direct calls to the relevant staff members.
  • Act as a liaison between students, parents, staff and administration, facilitating communication and ensuring smooth operations within the school.
  • Assist in scheduling and coordinating parent-teacher conferences, ensuring that appointments are scheduled efficiently and providing necessary information to parents and teachers.
  • Order and maintain school supplies, such as stationery, forms, and other materials.
  • Organise and support school events, such as assemblies, fundraisers, open houses, or parent information sessions.
  • Assist with various administrative tasks, such as handling correspondence, filing documents, managing mail, and maintaining student records.

Preferred skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills are necessary to interact with students, parents, staff and visitors in a clear and professional manner.
  • Efficiently managing time and resources to handle various responsibilities promptly and meet deadlines.
  • Detail-oriented to help accurately maintain records, handle paperwork and ensure that all necessary information is recorded correctly.
  • Maintain confidentiality and professionalism when dealing with student records and other private matters.

Personal Attributes:

  • Enhanced DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one)
  • Legal right to work in the UK
  • Comprehensive CV covering the last 10 years of education/employment history with any breaks explained.
