Description:

Job Summary
The post holder will provide a comprehensive and efficient reception service to patients within the East Lancashire Health community, ensuring a high level of customer care whilst always maintaining confidentiality.
Main Duties
Act as first point of contact for all patients and visitors to the Radiology
department. Providing a comprehensive reception and clerical service to patients, relatives, carers, consultants, and their teams.
Reception duties including registration of patient details onto CERNER / CRIS (Central Radiology Imaging System) at the point of contact.
Identify potential overseas visitors and patients liable to pay for treatment, at the point of referral or on arrival in the department.
Updating CRIS with the arrival of patients to clinics. Add patients to the relevant diary slots per service level agreements.
Receive orders from CRIS checking patient demographic details on SCR (Summary Care Record).
Ensure that any DNA’s are cancelled off the system or added to the waiting list as appropriate.
To administer Medical Legal requests, following standard operating procedures.
General administrative duties including filing, posting, photocopying, scanning and stationary stock control, informing the relevant personnel when stationary requires ordering.
Provide cover for all reception and clerical areas at all hospital sites as and when required, in accordance with the needs of the service. Providing cover to support the 7-day service (including all bank holidays, weekends and extended working days) during the hours of 07.45 - 20.00.
Organisational Responsibilities
Maintain the confidentiality of any information obtained regarding patients and be aware of the Data Protection and Freedom of Information Policies.
Show commitment to continuous improvement of Data Quality, in particular ensuring that patients’ details are kept up to date on the CERNER/CRIS. Taking personal responsibility for the quality of service provided and to contribute towards and support service improvement.

Deal with any complaints in accordance with the Trusts Complaints Procedure.
Communication
Always respond to telephone enquiries, contact with members of the public and staff of all disciplines, with tact, sensitivity, and confidentiality.
Training and Development
Attend all mandatory Trust training Sessions, e-learning and any sessions relevant to the job role.
Adequate training and support will be given in order to the effectively carry out your duties. There will also be opportunities for further training and personal development.
Support, train and assist new members of staff during their training period
