Description:

Norfolk Iron and Metal is seeking a receptionist who will be responsible for providing administrative support to the Durant, IA branch, including coordinating various activities, maintaining records, and customer service

Job Duties:

  • Answer all incoming telephone calls, assist callers with questions as needed, and transfer calls to the appropriate department/employee.
  • Always maintain professional appearance and behavior.
  • Greet all visitors to the company, and either direct them to the appropriate department of employee or call the appropriate department or employee informing them of the visitor.
  • Sort and distribute incoming mail as well as prepare outgoing mail.
  • Assist in office management, organization and cleanliness procedures.
  • Serve as back-up to receiving clerk.
  • Monitoring office inventory and ordering supplies
  • Scanning documents and printing invoices.
  • Helping research and plan branch events and activities.
  • The receptionist may be asked to perform other duties as specified by the supervisor/leadership team.
  • Must be able to attend work on a regular basis.

Knowledge, Skills, Aptitude

  • Excellent oral and written communications.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft products, including PowerPoint is desired
  • This person must be able to demonstrate confidentiality when dealing with personnel issues and critical thinking skills
  • Strong customer service background
  • Attention to detail
