Do you have experience in debt recovery, have high attention to detail and enjoy providing accurate advice to customers? We would like to hear from you!
We are seeking a diligent and customer-focused part time Recovery Officer to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date Council Tax and Business Rates records, as well as handling inquiries from the public, colleagues, and external organisations.
A key part of the role will be contacting customers who have outstanding Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debts. To maximum the chance of being able to speak to people, some of your working hours may be outside of our normal core hours.
An example working pattern for this role would be 4 hours a day over 5 days between 3:30pm – 7:30pm. These are flexible hours and open to some negotiation.

Responsibilities:

  • To pursue outstanding Council Tax, Business Rates and Sundry Debts which have reached advanced recovery stages in line with the appropriate authority’s Recovery Policy
  • Communicate with outside organisations, including Employers, Courts, Enforcement Agents, The Department for Works and Pensions and The Insolvency Service
  • Provide technical recovery expertise, advice and direction to internal and external customers
  • Work flexible hours in line with the needs of the service and to work hours which are outside the normal core working hours
