Responsibilities:

A DAY IN THIS ROLE LOOKS LIKE .

As an Intervention Worker, at Hestia, you will play a crucial role in our Criminal Justice Service. Your contributions will directly influence the lives of our service users, guiding them towards a path of empowerment and independence.

A day will never look the same and some of the things you can expect to do/be responsible for are:

  • Modelling pro-social behaviour and attitudes, helping to create and maintain a positive culture of respect in all work inside and outside of the service with both clients and colleagues.
  • Actively engaging with clients and providing opportunities to do so; delivering activities to them that aid their resettlement into the community.
  • Contributing to delivery of the sentence plan in conjunction with colleagues in probation, the police and other external agencies.
  • Following protocols, encouraging compliance and taking enforcement action as necessary, in particular around drug and alcohol testing requirements and curfews.
  • Ensuring that colleagues, multi-agency partners and management are informed and updated as necessary.
  • Actively monitoring and maintaining the health, safety, security, cleanliness and hygiene of the Approved Premises and the well-being of its occupants utilising information sharing, CCTV, direct observation, inspection, personal contact and other methods, as appropriate.
  • Ensuring that all related administration is done in good time; that detailed, concise and accurate records are created contemporaneously, that information is shared appropriately, and that confidentiality is properly maintained.
  • In all aspects of their work staff are expected to adhere to operational requirements detailed in the latest Approved Premises Manual, in print or on EQUIP.
  • To work within Hestia’s policies and procedures where these don’t conflict with requirements of the Ministry of Justice or Her Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service.
  • Actively and consistently demonstrate The Hestia Approach Approved Premises (AP) work with the highest-risk offenders and provide a vital element in public protection arrangements.
