JOB DESCRIPTION

  • Full time 3 month contract position.
  • Based on site at our MFG Toronto plant, Monday to Friday.
  • 40 hour week. Hours of work, 8am - 5pm.

CANDIDATE EXPERIENCE AND BACKGROUND

  • Minimum 3+ years full cycle recruitment;
  • Proven experience in high volume, hourly recruitment in the manufacturing / industrial setting is essential;
  • In-house recruitment experience is preferred with some exposure to agency recruitment;
  • College diploma in business or human resources management;
  • Thorough knowledge and experience of the entire recruiting life cycle; coupled with the ability to conduct thorough candidate screening;
  • Proven experience working in a fast-paced environment and being able to manage time sensitive deadlines efficiently;
  • Highly organized and be able to juggle multiple tasks at once;
  • Strong time management and prioritization skills;
  • Be able to remain calm under pressure;
  • Flexible attitude, open-minded, comfortable with fast-pace and change;
  • Strong interpersonal skills - influencing, collaborative and customer centric approach;
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills;
  • Strong analytical, judgment and problem-solving skills;

Responsibilities:

ROLE PURPOSE

The role of Recruiter is a 3 month contract, with the possibility of extension, to support all hourly recruitment activities at our Toronto Manufacturing plant in attracting and retaining top talent for our East Coast flagship operation.
This role will be responsible for identifying, sourcing and attracting candidates and handling the entire recruitment lifecycle for our hourly hiring.

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING!

  • The key focus of this role is managing full cycle hourly recruitment solely for our Toronto MFG plant;
  • Working in partnership with the hiring managers and our Talent Acquisition Specialist to create robust candidate attraction strategies for bringing in top talent;
  • Streamlining hiring processes for our hourly hiring and clean up of current procedures;
  • Managing the onboarding and offboarding process for all our hourly employees;
  • Making sure all required documentation is collected, tracked, valid and processed.
  • Take pride in building strong working relationships and trust with our Production Supervisors across all 4 shifts to understand their hiring needs and challenges;
  • Mirror that level of service to others you will be working closely with, to include our Production Manager, Maintenance Supervisor, Tool Room Lead Hand, People & Culture Generalist and other key personnel on site;
  • Source and maintain a pipeline of suitable candidates through a variety of sourcing channels: online/digital and targeted advertising (incl. social media, job boards, job fairs, industry associations), employee referrals, networking.
  • Lead with innovation, creativity, and resilience to source top talent for our hourly roles and make sure Metrie is on the map as an employer of choice;
  • Provide timely feedback to hiring manager, Director MFG and P&C Business Partner on candidate challenges in the market place / difficulties faced regarding attracting top talent;
  • Accurately maintain weekly recruitment updates and related hourly hiring metrics;
  • Provide exceptional customer service and candidate experience in all correspondence with internal and external stakeholders.
