Description:
Burcham Hills is an upscale senior living retirement community located in the backyard of Michigan State University in East Lansing, MI. We currently have a vacancy for Recruiter to work a Part Time schedule. An average of 20-24 hours per week. In this position a Recruiter will be responsible for developing and maintaining a pool of quality candidates to fill positions quickly and economically for the Center and Health and Rehab. Screen applicants. Conduct interviews. Coordinate new hire process, in addition to but not limited to the following duties:
- Consult with management to determine needs.
- Work with HR to ensure advertising is effective for positions.
- Suggest recruiting strategies, which may be needed for hard-to-locate positions.
- Regularly review existing applicant pool and internet recruiting sites for candidates.
- Develop and maintain a pool of quality candidates to fill positions quickly and economically.
- Evaluate and coordinate each step in the selection process to ensure consistency, effectiveness, and appropriate expediency.
- Screen and contact candidates daily.
- Conduct personal interviews to determine the suitability of the applicant for employment.
- Follow up with the related clerical duties such as notifying the department of the candidate you want to move forward with and updating the scheduling blocks.

Qualifications: At least two years’ related experience with demonstrated skill in interviewing techniques and a working knowledge of federal and state laws regarding interviewing and hiring practices. Prefer experience with social media recruiting, applicant tracking software. Proficient in Windows environment, MS Office (excel and word). Ability to make independent decisions. Ability to work with applicants, employees and visitors of various demographic, skill and economic backgrounds. Ability to work extended or flexible hours, as necessary. Ability to read, write, speak and comprehend written and oral instructions in English.
