Description:
About the team we are recruiting to
Our Human Resources Service supports the implementation of the Council’s One Coventry Plan and leads on the implementation of our People Plan. Our vision is to be a diverse, innovative and inspiring place to work that enables our people to be themselves whilst performing at the highest levels to support the citizens of Coventry.
Our People & Culture Team supports the Council’s wider Human Resources Service and has oversight of the following functions: Employee Engagement and Talent Development, Organisational Culture & Values, Internships and Graduate Programmes, Recruitment & Onboarding, Corporate Learning and Development, Workforce Diversity & Inclusion and Early Careers and Workforce Planning.
We value diverse perspectives and experiences and are striving to create a workplace culture that is inclusive, is accepting of all and is free from discrimination and bias.
What is the job role?
One of the key purposes on this role is to lead a team of 16 recruitment and onboarding professionals on the effective delivery and management of a progressive, equitable and inclusive end to end recruitment and onboarding service.
You will be a member of the People & Culture senior team and as such will ensure that the Council’s One Coventry Plan and our People Plan are delivered. Attracting, encouraging and supporting the diverse citizens of Coventry and our local talent to apply for our vacancies is one of our key priorities.
Who are we looking for?
We are looking for an experienced recruitment and onboarding practitioner to join a diverse and inclusive team of professionals who are committed to all aspects of equity and equality. Although our team is diverse, men (including men from minority-ethnic backgrounds) are currently under-represented within our team and as a result we would like to encourage men to apply for this post. This does not prevent candidates with or without a protected characteristic as set out within the Equality Act 2010 from applying for this post.
You will need to be CIPD qualified (or prepared to gain the qualification within 18 months if appointed), or have a degree/ master’s degree in Human Resources or other relevant qualification at the same level.
