IRC-DE is also cooperating with German civil society organizations.The IRC in Europe also has offices in Brussels, Geneva, Stockholm, and London.PURPOSE OF THE ROLEAs the organization continues to diversify and professionalise, the post holder will be the focal point for Global HR partners on all Germany recruitment matters, drive and manage initiatives and projects in Recruitment and Employer Branding and oversee all recruitment activities in Germany. The purpose of the role is to ensure that our full cycle recruitment, from talent sourcing to interviewing and hiring is best in class, attracts great candidates and supports the IRC’s diversity goals.On a needs basis, the recruiting manager will support other areas of HR.KEY ACCOUNTABILITIESTechnical Excellence
  • Lead on actions related to Recruitment and Employer Branding:
  • Identify and test/implement trends and best practices with regards to employer branding, GEDI and recruitment strategy.
  • Monitor and if neccessary improve the candidate experience; gather feedback and make adaptations to the recruitment process where necessary
  • Identify new recruitment vendors and advertising platforms
  • Lead on German recruitment projects and represent Germany in Europe- or global Recruitment projects.s
  • Inform and implement all Recruitment related actions in Germany`s GEDI Action Plan.
  • Support capacity building and learning for global Recruiters and hiring managers (e.g. by deepening working relationships, rolling out trainings, preparing info materials)
  • Regularly review and update Recruitment Policy, templates, guidelines etc. In alignment with HR Director
  • Prepare recruitment data (e.g. on open positions, time to hire, diversity, use of platforms, etc.) on a needs basisTeam Management
  • Provide technical line management to the Recruitment Officer:
  • Assign tasks to the Recruitment Officer in line with JD and prioritize work as necessary.
  • Provide guidance and support to the Recruitment Officer ensuring all internal policies and procedures are followed.
  • Hold regular one-to-one meetings with the Recruitment Officer.
  • Provide feedback on a regular basis.
  • Provide and guide on learning assignments.
  • Provide good practices and training where necessary.
  • Manage the annual goal setting and performance process in close collaboration with HR Director.

Recruitment

  • Review all open requisitions and assign within the recruitment team, considering experience within the team as well as complexity of the recruitment.
  • Support HR Director in the recruitment of grade 4 positions
  • Provide support for hiring managers on requirements and standardized processes for the advertisement of roles.
  • Work with hiring managers to develop job advertisements and advise on where to post roles to attract diverse, qualified applicants.
  • Ensure a timely and adequate posting of job ads on internal and external jobsites.
  • Longlist and shortlist candidates through Cornerstone.
  • Invite candidates and panellists to interviews and manage correspondence with applicants.
  • Prepare interview questionnaires in collaboration with hiring managers based on our success model.
  • Source candidates directly through targeted search including Linkedin
  • Represent HR on panel interviews.
  • Establish strong relationships with hiring managers regarding recruitment and ensure clear mutual understanding of skill priorities and practical constraints. Guide the hiring managers through the recruitment process where needed.
  • Manage offer process and negotiate compensation package including salary, start date under consideration of internal equity and internal compensation policies.
  • Establish a good relationship with the works council in Germany with regard to sharing recruitment documents, submitting approval requests and answering follow-up questions to ensure timely approvals.
  • Document recruitment process on Box, including approvals, JDs, CVs, interview templates and interview notes on Box.
  • Manage the recruitment process when hiring temporary or permanent staff through agencies.

  • Skills, Knowledge and Qualifications and Experience
  • Several years’ experience in recruitment (preferably in the INGO context)
  • Cross-cultural sensitivity, knowledge of and ability to work with people of diverse backgrounds.
  • Experience in GEDI and employer branding are a plus.
  • Entry level experience in people management is a plus.
  • Ability to think strategically and question existing processes.
  • Excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively both in groups as well as independently.
  • A high level of resilience, loyalty and confidentiality.
  • Excellent communication skills and high service orientation.
  • Very good English and German language skills corresponding C1 level according to the Common European Framework of Reference.
  • Good knowledge of MS Office, knowledge of Workday and Cornerstone is an asset
