About the Role:
We have recently launched our regenerative agriculture ambitions for our Tequila portfolio. With 100% of our agave being produced, sourced, and transformed in Mexico, this role is instrumental in leading this regenerative agriculture portfolio and brands, produced regionally and exported globally.

“Accelerating to a low carbon world” by reducing by 50% Diageo’s value chain (scope 3) carbon emissions, of which the sourcing of raw materials represents one-third. “Becoming sustainable by design” by developing regenerative agriculture programs across key sourcing regions and providing local sourcing communities with agricultural skills and resources to build economic and environmental resilience. “Preserving water for life” by improving water stewardship across Diageo’s supply chains.

  • Drive the in-market implementation of our regenerative agriculture roadmap as well as the decarbonization of our agriculture footprint for the raw material categories in scope, in line with Diageo’s corporate and brand Scope 3 commitments.
  • Coordinate and deliver all engagements and program activities, working closely with technical partners, research organizations, and other key partners to deliver our regenerative agriculture portfolio.
  • Work collaboratively with Diageo’s global and market procurement teams and integrate all program activations in Diageo’s procurement category roadmaps and supplier engagement plans.
  • Build agronomic plans based on regenerative interventions adapted to the crop and geography in scope and based on the best climate science.
  • Build strong supplier engagement plans to bring regenerative agriculture ambitions to commercial scale in the market and region in scope.
  • Lead regular key partner meetings to present progress and orient strategic discussions on roadmap development.
  • Reporting activities across internal and external reporting requirements, building strong information management processes.

Experience required/Skills:

  • Postgraduate degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, rural development, or farm economics.
  • Solid understanding of economic, social, and environmental sustainability challenges and industry-leading approaches and best methods in the FMCG sector to improve supply chain performance and sourcing of raw materials.
  • 5 years’ experience designing and leading sustainability programs, preferably in organizations with a global sustainability agenda and ambitious set of targets.
  • Excellent result-oriented, delivering results by working with cross-functional teams, project management skills, including relevant reporting tools.
  • Excellent communication skills and demonstrated ability to influence key partners inspire change management processes and in the process hold oneself as well as others accountable for reaching ambitiously set targets while upholding credible and recognized standards of practice.
  • Positive relationships to engage and work across a highly matrixed organization.
  • Be a self-starter motivated to advance newly defined regenerative agriculture roadmaps and transform supply chains through new value chain collaborations.
  • Proficiency in English and Spanish is critical for this role.
