Job Description
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for an proactive and goals driven Financial Controller to join our Finance team in Europe & India region.
In this role you will be responsible for the financial controllership of a program that aims to rationalize 18 countries in Europe. The role will be broad, hands-on, challenging and highly rewarding for the successful individual.

These will be your main responsibilities:

  • Support the capital restructure initiatives required prior to liquidating the entities (i.e. recapitalization, dividends, etc.) working closely with our Tax, Legal and Treasury team.
  • Lead the rationalization of the legal entities and branches in those 18 countries.
  • Manage a team of 2 accountants based in Bucharest in charge of the monthly closing and financial accounting of those 18 countries.
  • Oversee the coordination with the local external accountants, statutory auditors and external tax advisors.
  • Ensure local statutory accounts and tax returns are prepared for all entities.
  • Ensure internal controls are reviewed and discussed regularly.
  • Ensure regular reconciliations take place between US GAAP (Oracle/Sage) and the local accounting system.
  • Ensure balance sheet reconciliations are performed on a timely manner and to an adequate standard.
  • Ensure bank mandates / directorships are up to date at any given point.
  • Support Oracle implementations and any other system roll-outs.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Degree educated or equivalent in Accounting or similar.
  • Ideally qualified ACA, ACCA, CPA or similar with some tax knowledge.
  • Resilience and proactivity are essential skills for an excellent performance in the role.
  • At least, 5-7 year experience as Financial Controller, preferably in a multinational company.
  • Experience managing multiple tasks and multiple stakeholders in complex environment.
  • Excellent written and spoken English is essential; other European languages will be a plus.
  • International travel might be required (10%).
