Overview:
As a Regional Controller in Financial Reporting team for DACH region, you will be responsible for ensuring our company’s financial statements adhere to German statutory regulations and coordinate component and statutory audits for multiple entities as well as being responsible to filing of the financial statements and other statutory requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee statutory compliance for our company’s financial reporting in accordance with German GAAP.
  • Collaborate closely with internal stakeholders to understand our company’s reporting needs and provide tailored solutions.
  • Support General Accounting team during periods end.
  • Collaborate closely with actuaries to ensure accurate valuation and accounting for Company’s pension obligations based on German GAAP.
  • Coordinate more complex accounting projects and initiatives, including legal entity restructuring project.
  • Coordinate with external auditors for the component and statutory audits of financial statements, ensuring seamless collaboration, compliance with audit requirements and deadlines.
  • Oversee the production of financial reports; ensure that the reported results comply with generally accepted accounting principles or financial reporting standards.
  • Actively identify opportunities to streamline existing processes, enhancing efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Drive process improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or business administration is required.
  • 5 years or more of related experience required (preferably audit firm)
  • Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required or local equivalent
  • Previous experience as a manager or senior accountant in an accounting firm is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills (written, oral and presentation).
  • Proven experience in statutory financial reporting and compliance, with understanding of German regulatory requirements is preferred.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills, ability to prioritize tasks of competing urgency.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external auditors.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and collaboratively with both junior and senior staff.
  • Analytical mindset with a focus on continuous improvement and problem-solving.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including advanced functions such as pivot tables and
