Salary: $63,036 - $70,966 - $86,734 per year (pay range explained below)

About the role
As Regional Coordinator, Urban Away from Home, you will provide coordination, planning, relationship and communications support to the functions of the Regional Office, the Urban and Away-from-Home team, and other FNHA departments as it relates to the urban and away-from-home First Nations population. The position supports the work of the region and the inclusion of the urban and away-from-home population in the regional engagement processes as directed by each region’s caucus Terms of Reference. The position supports, develops and maintains relationships at the local, regional and provincial levels as part of regional and/or provincial teams, and ensures that the FNHA’s activities complement the existing functions of the Regional Health Authorities, Indigenous service providers, and other organizations as they relate to the urban and away-from-home population. In addition, the position supports the integration of urban and away-from-home functions and resources as they are organized and leveraged to meet strategic and operational needs within the regions and across the province.
Some of the Principal Duties and Responsibilities are:
Supports the planning, development, implementation, and evaluation of activities that support the health and wellness of the urban and away-from-home population both regionally and provincially;
Ensures that activities and objectives align with FNHA’s Regional Health and Wellness Plans, the FNHA’s Urban and Away-from-Home Health and Wellness Framework and regional and/or provincial urban and away-from-home strategies and investments;
Collaborates with Regional teams, the provincial Urban and Away-from-Home team, and relevant partners to identify the health needs and priorities of the urban and away-from-home population (including gaps in health services) to inform local, regional and provincial planning activities;
Organizes local, regional and provincial engagement activities that are integrated with identified health priorities and align with the regional engagement strategy, in coordination with community engagement teams and/or the provincial Urban and Away-from-Home team;
Promotes awareness and inclusion of urban and away-from-home priorities throughout our work at the FNHA and with our system-wide health partners;
Develops and maintains strong working relationships with Regional teams, the provincial Urban and Away-from-Home team, FNHA departments, Indigenous service providers, and health system partners to discuss progress on activities and objectives, and resolve problems as they arise;

About you - To be successful in this role you will have/be:
A University degree with specialization in Health Sciences, Education, Social Services or a related field, or an acceptable combination of education, training and professional experience
A valid Class 5 BC Driver’s License
You may have experience in;
Recent, relevant and significant experience in the provision of coordination support, relationship building and community/organizational development to First Nation communities and/or Indigenous service providers usually acquired over a 3-5 year period), or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience. A focus on the urban and away-from-home population would be an asset.
Recent, relevant and significant experience in gathering, synthesizing and analyzing information and data (usually acquired over a period of 3-5 years)
Experience and knowledge of traditional ceremonies and cultural practices is an asset.
Knowledge of community engagement and development, provincial and federal health systems, and Aboriginal/First Nations health system needs especially as it related to the urban and away-from-home population
You also would have:
Ability to develop and document work plans, including ongoing adaptation and reporting
Ability to build and maintain respectful and effective relationships with diverse groups, organizations, and individuals to work collaboratively and cooperatively, including conflict management skills
Ability to multi-task, set priorities effectively, time manage and problem solve, including early identification of issues/problems that may arise, with an awareness of when to elevate issues as appropriate
Ability to coordinate, design and facilitate meetings and other gatherings on a wide variety of topics and with diverse groups and/or individuals, including the development of pre-reading and meeting documentation (agenda development, meeting minutes, summary reports, briefing notes)
Ability to communicate effectively and efficiently both orally and in writing, including making presentations to a variery of audiences.
