Job Description
Our Streets team, within our Transportation business line, have a vacancy for a Regional Director with experience in leading the delivery of transportation engineering schemes in our Dublin office. You will be joining our team who are recognised as market leaders in the areas of active travel multi-modal studies, public transport, active travel and continue to deliver high profile and impactful projects across the country. The Streets team are responsible for the full lifecycle delivery of projects aimed at improving our streets and places for local authority clients across Ireland. We provide feasibility, concept, preliminary and detailed design, community engagement, project delivery and construction management services on a wide range of multi-discipline transportation and urban realm projects. In addition, we support other AECOM business lines where their projects have a specialised transportation interface. The successful candidate will be joining a growing team that is actively involved in the delivery of high-profile projects and services to a range of both local and national clients.
You will have appropriate qualifications and will have proven team leadership, business development, project delivery and business management experience within a commercial environment. The role would suit a self-motivated individual looking to advance their career in a dynamic team. In addition to delivering work within the local office the role will involve working with other AECOM teams in the UK and Ireland. We are therefore seeking candidates who are able to work flexibly across other AECOM offices as projects dictate to support the wider business.
Further, the role offers opportunities to work in AECOMs wider UK European, Middle East, and India regions.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • A good industry profile in Ireland, with the gravitas to represent AECOM with National Transport Authority and Local Authority clients.
  • Demonstrable strength in business development and an excellent knowledge of the Streets market in Ireland.
  • A successful track record in the management and delivery of a portfolio of traffic engineering projects, particularly sustainable infrastructure projects and roads/traffic engineering projects.
  • Demonstrable experience in promoting technical excellence and thought leadership through presenting at conferences, writing papers or articles on current technical topics and subjects.
  • A successful track record of delivery of bids and proposals and proven ability to manage and growing a team, with strong leadership skills and the ability to develop and maintain a highly motivated project delivery team.

Qualifications

  • Relevant degree and will have Chartered status along with membership of a professional institution.

Additional Information

Responsibilities:

  • Provide Health, Safety and Wellness leadership to the district team consistent with AECOM’s safety policies and procedures to deliver a safe and healthy working environment for the project team members.
  • Develop sound client relationships, being alert to commercial opportunities, identifying emerging opportunities and developing strategies to fully exploit them.
  • Following successful accreditation on the AECOM project management system act as a Project Director and Project Manager including monitoring financial performance. Comprehensive training on AECOM’s project management system will be provided.
  • Ensure Technical content and quality of output produced is in line with the project brief.
  • Oversee the preparation of feasibility, preliminary and detailed designs for traffic, active travel, and urban realm engineering schemes.
  • Oversee the preparation of detailed technical reports providing specialist technical contributions as required.
  • Support and monitor team skills and ensure they are up to date with current best practice, techniques, and innovation.
  • Manage career progression of line reports.
  • Support senior management Streets team deputising for the Streets Director Ireland as required.
  • Actively recruit to grow the team.
  • Development of Client relationships through business development being the key point of contact for meetings and liaison.
  • Prepare detailed proposals, client briefs and fee proposals and contribute to or lead bids.
  • Establishing strong working relationships with other internal teams across AECOM’s business lines including Planning, Structures, Infrastructure, Water, Power, Landscape.
  • Working with colleagues to deliver marketing and business development objectives in both the local region and nationally.
