Regional EHS Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION SUMMARY

Exciting new opportunity to Lead and manage across Norway, Sweden, Denmark & Finland GSI Project & Services and provide the suitable support for sites management team in implementing the Site EHS Management System.
You will be based at our Tampere Office where 50% of your time you will have under your supervision a couple of small labs and one Office with +100 Employees in Tampere. Key actor on the sustainability to drive and support local initiatives inside the PDG STATCOM labs.
The remaining 50% of time you will travel across Project Sites in Norway, Sweden, Denmark & Finland.

SKILLS KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED

• Graduated - Industrial/engineering qualification with EHS or/and technical background.
• Experience with and knowledge of independent standards organizations and certification programs such as ISO 14001, ISO 45001, etc.
• Knowledge of local EHS legislation.
• 5+ years’ experience on leadership role at Manufacturing operations or Field services operations.
• Problem solving and root cause identification skills.
• Able to navigate in an multi-cultural environment.
• Strong experience working in a matrix organization.
• Fluent oral and written English skills and conversational Finnish.
• Good computer skill using MS office (word, excel, power point).
  Within GE Vernova and Grid Solutions, the FACTS Product Delivery Group (PDG) is fully accountable for providing (OTR) integrated FACTS solutions worldwide. As such, it owns its tendering force, operations, R&D and product management.
  We deliver reactive power compensators such as Static Synchronous Compensators (STATCOM) and Static Var Compensators (SVC), on which we are the global Centre of Excellence (CoE). These systems are used to control power system voltage and reactive power flow as well as to improve the power system stability and transmission system efficiency. • Monitor the effectiveness of different P&S Sites related rules defined in the EHS Plan, revise as necessary in agreement with the Project Director / Manager, and take appropriate actions in the event of non-compliance.
• Leader of the Governance and compliance at the sites following Local regulation and GE/ GSI requirements. Develop audit & inspection program, ensure audit findings identified and closed within business timeframe.
• Manage all ongoing programs and action plans implemented by the sites for the protection of the environment, including permits for air emissions, hazardous waste management, and wastewater management.
• Define and implement an EHS Subcontractor audit program to monitor compliance with all relevant statutory, regulatory, contractual and the company requirements.
• Monitor fulfilment of EHS contractual requirements established with the Subcontractors.
• Organize (and deliver, when relevant) adequate EHS communication to the GE site personnel whenever required (EHS Toolbox talks, communication on specific EHS issues, EHS awareness campaign, etc.).
• Ensure that all site EHS events (accidents / incidents, near-misses, first aid cases, property damages, etc.) are recorded, investigated and analyzed to prevent recurrence.
