Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Provide day-to-day legal advice and support on regional matters and work closely with HR teams across the region and globally on a broad spectrum of employee and contingent workforce-related issues.
  • Draft and review employment-related agreements, policies, and other documents, including offer letters, severance agreements, confidentiality agreements, employee handbooks, and incentive plans.
  • Provide advisory support on topics such as employee handbooks, policies and procedures; recruitment and hiring; global mobility, data privacy, workplace health and safety, employee relations, performance management, discipline and terminations, internal and external investigations; disputes and litigation, leaves of absence, compensation and benefits, discrimination, harassment, and confidentiality.
  • Support and provide advice on strategic cross-border employment law initiatives, including collaboration with other employment lawyers and legal team members.
  • Provide strategic advice and guidance relating to employment law issues for new business lines and markets across the regions.
  • Manage all aspects of employment disputes in the region, as needed, including e-discovery, fact-finding and analysis, witness preparation, depositions, case management conferences, motion practice, and arbitration or trial preparation and presentation.
  • Prepare and conduct training on regional employment law issues.

Qualifications:

  • At least 7 – 10 years PQE with 5 years of solid employment law experience, both as a private practice lawyer or as an in-house legal counsel.
  • Qualified to practice law in any jurisdiction within the region (ideally Singapore) and proven ability to analyze employment law matters of all levels of complexity, and exercise sound judgment in balancing legal risks and business needs, providing practical legal advice and recommendations.
  • Team player, strong people skills, and ability to engage on all levels of the organization and proven track record of operating independently, demonstrating creativity, strong attention to detail, and managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written and build rapport with internal stakeholders.
