COMPANY SUMMARY:
Montauk Renewables, Inc. (NASDAQ: MNTK) is a renewable energy company specializing in the management, recovery, and conversion of biogas into RNG. The Company captures methane, preventing it from being released into the atmosphere, and converts it into either RNG or electrical power for the electrical grid (“Renewable Electricity”). The Company, headquartered in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, has more than 30 years of experience in the development, operation, and management of landfill methane-fueled renewable energy projects. The Company has current operations at 15 operating projects located in California, Idaho, Ohio, Oklahoma, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, and Texas. The Company sells RNG and Renewable Electricity, taking advantage of Environmental Attribute premiums available under federal and state policies that incentivize their use.
Position Title: Regional Environmental Specialist
Reports To: Vice President of Environmental Health and Safety
Position Salary Range: $75,000.00-$90,000.00 annually
SKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor of Science degree in engineering, biological or environmental science, or an equivalent with 3-5 years’ experience in an industrial setting.
- Must have knowledge of renewable natural gas or electricity projects.
- Proficient computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Work and Excel.
- Ability to interact positively and effectively in a team environment; and
- Valid Drivers’ license issued by state of residence in good standing.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
- Required to be exposed to physical environment which involves dirt, odors, noise, weather extremes or similar elements.
- Ability to walk over uneven terrain.
- Ability to stand and walk for extended periods.
- Ability to use and wear applicable PPE including respiratory protection.
Responsibilities:
- Provide environmental oversight to field personnel to ensure compliance with state and federal requirements and applicable regulations.
- Develop environmental management and tracking programs that facilitate compliance at each site.
- Participate in the Environmental Audit Program as Team Member and Team Leader.
- Coordinate and support stack testing for emission sources.
- Prepare and obtain all environmental permits needed for new development projects and existing sites.
- Interpret new environmental regulations and provide compliance guidance to management and field personnel.
- Update and ensure the Montauk Environmental Application is adequate to track compliance with permits, regulations, and audit findings.
