Position Overview
The Regional Medical Education Manager (RMEM) develops the regional medical education strategy and contributes to the National Medical Education Strategy (NMEM). They are responsible for implementing regional needs assessments and identifying local and regional insights on educational gaps and HCP learning needs, in order to contribute to the National Education Strategy for their Therapy Area. The RMEM is responsible for the implementation of the Medical Education Strategic plan alongside the Medical Science Liaison in the region. The RMEM will oversee the medical event execution and help identify local congress opportunities, in alignment with laws, regulations, policy, and Corporate Compliance. The RMEM will identify field synergies for execution and oversee executional excellence of the national and regional medical education tactics in alignment with the strategic plans.
The RMEM will support the NMEM in national and asset-based Needs Assessments for Other Learning Activities and will assist in developing the regional speaker list and recommendation of speakers and faculty for asset development and coordinating the Medical Science Liaison to meet with speakers to ensure Scientific Narrative Alignment prior to program deployment. The RMEM will work closely with the NMEM to determine event ownership and oversight and pull in subject matter experts in the Digital Content team and the Medical Affairs Operations team in the medical event planning and event development processes. They are responsible for event closure and post-event follow-up with the speaker. Post event responsibilities will include reviewing event data and identifying practical insights to further expand regional educational strategies and tactics and supply these insights to the NMEM for internal use.
Core Responsibilities:
Regional Education Leadership
o Implements the Medical Education Strategic Plan developed by the NMEM
o Lead all aspects of the execution of educational assets in field
o Optimize educational offerings in the region
o Partner closely with MSL to meet with speakers to ensure alignment to scientific narrative and pre and post event follow up
o Responsible for execution of OLAs, and NVP/IVP medical events
o Attendance/participation at regional and major conferences as needed
o Coordinate event wrap-up and evaluation including insight feedback to NMEM
o Conduct quarterly regional insight analysis to NMEM and Regional Business Managers
Field Logistics Leadership
o Management of all aspects related to the tactical execution of a medical education event
o Ensures the tracking and reporting of events in alignment with compliance and POA plan for the asset
Compliance and Medical Education Subject Matter Expert
o Understands the needs of the region for medical education
o Responsible for event closure, post event evaluation summaries and post-event follow up with the speaker
o Stay on top of scientific literature/clinical data
Regional Business Readiness
o Supports the TA medical education strategies and execution for each educational event

QUALIFICATIONS

Education:

  • A minimum of a university degree is required, preferably in medical or related health sciences subject area; a science degree is preferred

Skills and Experience:

Required:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in the pharmaceutical industry, or medical education field or educational field years
  • A valid Canadian driver’s license
  • Reside in the Ontario geography
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills with ability to showcase leadership of cross-functional project team members
  • Demonstrated experience on organizational change and adoption
  • Knowledge of pharmaceutical regulated standards (IMC Code of Ethical Practices, ICH GCP, cGMPs, or Pharmacovigilance standards)
  • Strong written, verbal and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in metrics and reporting, creating dashboards and scorecards, and communicating complex information at the right tone and breadth.
  • Experience in continuous improvement and or quality improvement processes.
  • Strong analytical and time management skills.
  • Proficiency in SFMC, Microsoft products, Adobe products, and strong ability to learn other technology quickly
  • Prioritization and organization of workflow activities to meet tight deadlines
  • Superior level of attention to detail
  • Ability to work in a team environment is critical
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Experience with interacting with different levels of the organization
  • Demonstrated abilities in the following areas: managing complexity, innovative thinking, verbal and written communications and effective time and budget management

Preferred:

  • Knowledge of the medical education area
  • Completion of a course in Continuing Medical Education or CPD i.e. CCPE
  • Confirmed examples of leadership, high learning agility, critical thinking, and intellectual curiosity in the development of marketing and/or educational projects
  • Experience with medical education program development
  • Background in Oncology or Solid Tumors
