We have an exciting opportunity for a Regional Nurse to join our Central Otago team to work with a vibrant and active workforce. This role is based out of our Alexandra office to promote and implement health, safety and wellbeing initiatives and programmes to all employees. You will provide advice on industry related health issues and injury prevention, undertake proactive health monitoring and administer first aid as required, and provide injury rehabilitation and return to work advice.

In addition to the above you will:

  • Conduct pre-employment screening and drug testing
  • Build relationships with operational field staff through operational site visits to promote health & wellbeing, and deliver wellness talks
  • Provide first aid care in response to work place accidents/injuries
  • Injury management liaising with the affected employee, their manager, ACC, physiotherapists and doctors to ensure a safe and effective return to work
  • Understand and implement health programs to influence better lifestyle choices and educate workers on relevant occupational health issues
  • Monthly reporting on performance against Fulton Hogan Health and Wellbeing indicators

We’re looking for someone with:

  • NZ registered nurse with a current practicing certificate with NZ Nursing Council
  • Ideally holds a qualification in Occupational Health or working towards, or the desire to learn and grow in this field
  • Previous experience of working in an Occupational Health role, preferably in a similar industry
  • Current NZ Class 1 Drivers License
  • Working knowledge of ACC
  • Current First Aid certificate
  • Acts with honesty and integrity maintaining employee confidentiality
  • Ability to positively influence employee health outcomes
  • Ability to identify trends and early intervention requirements
  • Competent in Microsoft Office – Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook
