Job Introduction
An opportunity is available for a Regional Project Management Office (PMO) Lead.
Reporting to the Head of PMO you will have a pivotal role in managing and enhancing our newly implemented Project Management Office, within the South West area. Showcasing your leadership and project management expertise you will optimise and expand our project processes and successfully deliver key initiatives, whilst driving efficiency and excellence across the organisation.
As part of our hybrid working approach this role offers a mix of office and home working. This is a full-time role, but flexibility in working pattern may be considered. Occasional Travel may be needed to other locations.
Ideally the role will be based in Bristol but we can consider other locations within the licence area.
Salary - Circa £67,000 per annum
If you are offered a position, you will be required to successfully complete a basic DBS check that shows any unspent convictions or conditional cautions.

Main Responsibilities

  • Manage the PMO for your region, embed and ensure that all project and programme management processes and procedures are beneficial and adhered to in line with business requirements.
  • Maintain the portfolio delivery lifecycle, ensuring that it aligns with the company & strategic objectives
  • Monitor Portfolio, Programme and Project performance and report progress to stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Manage risks and issues, ensuring that appropriate action is taken to mitigate any potential problems
  • Manage budgets and ensure that projects are delivered within budget
  • Leverage your deep understanding of project management methodologies and tools to establish best practices within the PMO.
  • Provide leadership and guidance to project managers and teams, ensuring that they have the necessary resources, budgets and support to deliver projects successfully
  • Strong Leadership Skills: Lead and inspire a team of project management professionals, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability

The Ideal Candidate
To be successful you will have extensive experience in project management, with a proven track record of successful project delivery. Experience in PMO management, Portfolio management is also important. You will demonstrate strong leadership and people management skills and be able to communicate effectively with range of colleagues of differing seniority.
A degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, Operations, Economics, Business administration or equivalent level of education is preferred but not essential as equal weighting will be given to equivalent experience.
You’ll have a proficiency with data visualisation tools (e.g..Power BI), advanced proficiency in Microsoft office suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and knowledge of Project Management tools (e.g.. Primavera P6, Microsoft Project).
