Description:
This is an exciting opportunity to join a diverse project management team and work in one of the most beautiful parts of the world. This role will lead a small team of project officers to deliver bushfire recovery projects across state forests in East Gippsland. Projects include repairs and improvements to roads and visitor sites across public land.
The successful applicant will be self-driven and a problem solver. They will have demonstrated experience in project management processes and procurement and contract management. This is primarily an office-based role but you can expect to be out in the forests inspecting works and visiting work sites. Having a background in land management would be an advantage. DEECA has emergency management responsibilities, especially relating to bushfire and this role will contribute to DEECA’s responsibilities wherever possible.
Specialist/Technical Expertise/Qualifications
- An appropriate qualification in science, natural resource management or approved equivalent (desirable).
- Demonstrated experience in the delivery of projects on public land which include roading, fuel management, forest management and or biodiversity and cultural heritage planning.
- Demonstrated experience in working on complex projects with multiple partners/stakeholders.
This is a fixed term position available until 30 June 2025. The work location for this position is flexible within Gippsland with hybrid work arrangements available.
