Description:

Passion. Purpose. Impact. CJP is one of Boston’s oldest and most respected philanthropic organizations and we are currently seeking three (3) Regional Security Advisors.
The Regional Security Advisor (RSA) serves as an expert security consultant, trainer, advisor, relationship manager, and liaison between the Combined Jewish Philanthropies (CJP) Communal Security Initiative (CSI) and the Greater Boston, Massachusetts, and New England, Jewish Communities. RSAs serve as expert security advisors to provide direction and to maintain oversight for the development, organization, implementation, and monitoring of security related matters to assist Jewish non-profit religious partner organizations to improve their security postures. RSAs support CJP CSI, partner organizations, and law enforcement during post-incident crisis response to coordinate support and to help manage security concerns. RSAs will coordinate with federal, state, and local law enforcement, non-profit, public, private, security contractors, and other stakeholder organizations on community safety and security matters.

EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience

EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of ten (10) years’ experience in Emergency Management, Security Risk Management, Law Enforcement, Public Safety Administration, OR equivalent combination of professional work experience, training and education.
  • Prior supervisory and managerial security and law enforcement experience preferred.

  • Proficiency in the development and implementation of operational planning, policies, protocols, and procedures. Ability to design, develop, tailor, implement and deliver CJP CSI provided Emergency Operation Plans, Standard Operating Procedures, Organizational Policies, and Training Programs.
  • Skills in designing, developing, interpreting, and applying security directives.
  • Ability to maintain the integrity of confidential efforts and documents.
  • Ability to work in high stress situations and to independently manage multiple tasks over an extended time period.
  • Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate in verbal, written, or electronic formats in a concise and grammatically correct manner.
  • Ability to draft and to review physical security assessments.
  • Ability to follow a CSI provided model to draft and review DHS/FEMA and state Non-Profit Security Grants.
  • Ability to ascertain compliance with federal and state emergency preparedness laws, rules, and regulations and explain compliance requirements to federal, state, and local officials.
  • Ability to make independent and accurate decisions under challenging conditions with tact and courtesy.
  • Professional security judgment skills to work with non-profit partner organizations with no security training as well as to interact with security, emergency management, and law enforcement professionals.
  • Proficiency in the Microsoft Office Suite and possession of general computer skill.

Responsibilities:

  • RSAs will serve as the main representative of CJP’s Communal Security Initiative within a designated area and will actively facilitate communication between CSI senior staff and partner organizations leadership including boards, directors, senior staff, staff, volunteers, and congregants.
  • Maintain detailed records of interactions with community partners in the designated area and provide weekly updates to the Director on activities, issues, and opportunities within this area.
  • Provide security-related presentations and conduct security training for the New England Jewish Community in-person and online. CJP CSI will provide standardized PowerPoint presentations and supporting materials.
  • Independently conduct outreach to, and develop working relationships with, Jewish partner organizations and law enforcement in the designated area.
  • Serve as liaison between CJP CSI and community partners during post-incident crisis response and mitigation efforts, assisting incident commanders and partner organizations as required.
  • RSAs will primarily focus on their designated area, but RSAs will be requested to provide support in other geographic areas as requested by the Director.
  • Coordinate with local, state, and federal law enforcement authorities as well as Jewish security networks on community safety and security matters.
  • RSAs provide pre-event planning, coordination, and advise on event security management for partner organizations.
  • RSAs may be requested to serve in an armed security role for large, regional events.
  • RSAs may oversee contract security officers and coordinate with law enforcement for large, regional events.
