REGIONAL STRATEGY LEAD, PREVENTION AND POPULATION HEALTH - GIPPSLAND REGION PUBLIC HEALTH UNIT

  • Contribute to a fresh, new integrated approach to improving population health in the Gippsland region of Victoria
  • Help facilitatethestrategic direction of the population health team, lead change and support implementation of regional strategies
  • 0.8 FTE, fixed term contract until 30 June 2024 (subject to review)
    The Gippsland Region Public Health Unit (GRPHU) led by Latrobe Regional Health (LRH) are looking for a Regional Strategy Lead (Population Health) to join the GRPHU team. The GRPHU is one of nine public health units across Victoria, working closely with the Department of Health in a statewide system of public health delivery and oversight.
    Reporting to the Manager Population Health, you’ll play a key role insupporting the development, implementation, monitoring and evaluation of a regional strategy ttailored to theGippslandprevention sector.

The candidate should be able to demonstrate that they have the following:

  • Experience within a healthcare, community health or other relevant organisation, preferably at a leadership level
  • Significant public health-related experience - knowledge of public health and program delivery systems and understanding of Department of Health reporting requirements
  • Excellent people skills, developing and contributing to an effective and positive culture
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement skills, including strong relationship management, workshop facilitation, emotional and social awareness and ability to manage sensitive and complex issues
  • Strong project management and program delivery including design and outcome reporting
  • Experience with data collection processes, practices and technologies and ability to analyse performance data, create business intelligence and use data to inform decisions
