SUMMARY :

The Regional Trade Compliance manager will :

  • Support and direct all regional import, export, duty savings, and special trade program activities.
  • Develop and implement internal controls relating to Baxter’s global trade activities in order to maintain a high standard of compliance with Customs and other government agency laws and regulations, minimize the risk of penalty and fines due to non-compliance, maximize opportunities for duty reduction, and to provide trade compliance support for all Baxter entities.
  • Help define strategic planning opportunities for trade operations, maintain a dedicated, high performing trade compliance team that effectively perform compliance activities and building relationships with facilities and/or country personnel to understand existing/future operations.
  • Support & drive continuous improvement projects to ensure globally consistent best in class processes, systems, and standards.
  • Keep abreast of all legislative and regulatory changes. Monitor regulations affecting international trade, assess impact and communicate compliance and customs requirements to key stakeholders.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Minimum of bachelor’s degree with at least 6 years business and/or compliance/regulatory experience
  • Working knowledge of Import./Export laws and regulations, Customs formalities, FDA/MOH requirements and global application
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain concepts and models, order management, trade financing
  • Must be able to perform gap analysis, spot issues related to non-compliance, formulate corrective action plan, present findings to management and operations and implement agreed upon actions
  • Must possess initiative and problem solving skills and must be able to work independently with minimal supervision while recognizing the need to timely update supervisor and engage internal expertise as needed
  • Must be technologically adept, experience implementing Global Trade software preferred
  • Must possess critical thinking ability
  • Must be able to balance several projects concurrently
  • Travel required (approx. 10 %)
