THE SKILLS DESIRED

A natural communicator with a key appreciation for detail, you will ideally have;

  • Registered Nurses based in Auckland are encouraged to apply.
  • 3-4 years recent experience in Emergency Medicine or ICU Nursing experience where you have been exposed to a large variety of conditions and incidents etc).
  • Decisive decision making skills with excellent verbal and active listening skills.
  • The ability to manage a varied case load
  • Either English first language or Bi-Lingual where you can demonstrate IELTS 6.0 or better.
  • Your skills must be recognised by the NZ Nursing Council and have an ACP or working towards one.
  • You must have a proven attention to detail, able to follow Standard Operating Procedures and must be fluent in using a broad mix of technology and systems (training will be provided for specific software our client uses).
  • You will be expected to maintain accurate case management notes on the database and by association, ensure written communication is legible, relevant, objective and accurate.

Responsibilities:

THE ROLE

Operating with a follow the sun service delivery model, your role is one of a team of Registered Nurses providing Medical Case Management. Your role is based in Auckland and works with a team of similarly skilled Registered Nurses and Assistance Coordinators to deliver nurse lead services to those in need. The UK offering provides the continuation of services to the case load to ensure 24x7 support is provided.
Providing end to end Medical Case Management, your role delivers initial triage services through to the ultimate resolution which may include, air evacuation, ground transportation, hospitalisation in country and various other treatment options.

Day to day you will be responding to the medical advisory demands of our clients customers. In this role, you will;

  • Review all new and ongoing medical cases and the provision of medical advice as necessary
  • Provide liaison with assistance co-ordinators to ensure patients receive the highest standard of medical care
  • Contribute to the Medical Team which enables prioritising and managing of a caseload of patients where you will assess each case taking into account; medical need; local facilities; age of patient and cost of care.
  • Provide advice and recommendations on the management and repatriation requirements for each individual; and will be aware of the limitations of travel for sick and injured individuals.
  • Have clear decision making skills and demonstrate an advanced level of clinical knowledge yet recognise your limitations and seek advice/assistance where necessary.
  • Contribute to the ongoing professional development programme providing education sessions as required within your area of expertise.
  • Contribute to the development of clinical audit, guidelines, protocols and policies as required.

THERE ARE NO NIGHT SHIFTS WITH THIS ROLE.

Being full time permanent, you will work 8 x 10 hours shifts fortnightly, working between Monday to Sunday on a rostered basis between the hours of;

  • WINTER MONTHS08:30 to 18:30 (Early Shift)09:30 to 19:30 (Late Shift)
  • SUMMER MONTHS (DURING NZ DAYLIGHT SAVINGS)10:30 to 20:30 (Early Shift)11:30 to 21:30 (Late Shift)
