Job Description
Senior Executive Architect – Offaly County Council
County Offaly is located in the centre of Ireland in the province of Leinster and is one of twelve local authorities comprising the Eastern and Midlands Region. County Offaly has a population of 83,150 (2022 Census) with approximately 60% of the population residing in rural areas. The principal towns are Tullamore (the county town), Edenderry, Birr, Clara and Portarlington. The county is divided into the three Municipal Districts of Tullamore, Birr and Edenderry with the local authority administrative headquarters located in Tullamore.
The Senior Executive Architect will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team delivering architectural services to the Local Authority and providing advice and leadership to the team.
Reporting to the Head of Section, Senior Engineer/Senior Executive Officer, or such other designated person(s) as may be assigned from time to time, the post holder will deliver a programme of architectural work and provide advice to the County Council on architectural matters.
The Programme of Work will primarily focus on project managing the planning, design and delivery of large scale architectural projects within the County in line with annual targets but may involve other duties.
